ZipFibre delivers both over IPoE/DHCP, with IPv6 /56 support.
What is IPv4?
IPv4 is the traditional internet addressing system. The problem is there aren't enough IPv4 addresses for everyone to have their own public address.
That's where CGNAT comes in.
What is CGNAT?
CGNAT allows multiple customers to share a public IPv4 address.
For normal use — browsing, streaming, gaming and working from home — you generally won't notice it.
What is IPv6?
IPv6 provides a much larger number of internet addresses and is designed for the modern internet.
With ZipFibre, IPv6 works alongside IPv4, so you can access services using either protocol without needing to do anything.
When does CGNAT matter?
CGNAT mainly matters if you need to connect into your home over IPv4, such as for:
