Choosing the right NBN speed

This isn’t complicated. You’re basically deciding how much headroom you want when everyone’s using the internet at the same time. That’s it. What actually matters Forget the big numbers for a second. The only time your plan really gets tested is when things stack up: - a couple of streams running - someone downloading something - someone on a video call If that happens often, you need more headroom. If it doesn’t, you don’t. Where each plan sits 500/50 This is where most people land. It handles normal day-to-day use without issues. Multiple devices, streaming, work — all fine. 750/50 This is just a buffer. Same experience most of the time, but holds up better when everything’s happening at once. 1000/100 You’ll notice this if your connection is always busy. Downloads finish quicker, uploads don’t drag, and it’s harder to “max out”. 2000 plans Unless you already know why you need this, you probably don’t. The part people miss If your internet feels slow, it’s usually not the plan. It’s your WiFi. - Router stuck in a corner - Signal trying to go through walls - Older gear You can have a fast plan and still get average performance if your setup isn’t right. On the flip side, a decent router in the right spot can make a lower plan feel completely fine. If you want to upgrade your route/modem, check out our hardware page for our recommendations Our plans We keep it simple: - 500/50 - $85 - 750/50 - $99 - 1000/100 - $105 Higher upload and faster tiers are there if you need them, but most people won’t.
