Resetting an NBN HFC Device
If your NBN HFC connection isn’t working as expected, a factory reset of the HFC modem can sometimes fix the issue. This should only be done occasionally, not as a routine step.

-
Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the black NBN modem.
-
Insert the paperclip into the pinhole and press firmly.
-
Hold the button for 60 seconds to trigger a full factory reset.

Note:
If the reset isn’t held long enough, the modem may not reset and will continue with its existing settings.

What you’ll need:
A paperclip or similar small, rigid object.
Steps:
-
Ensure the modem is powered on.
-
Press and hold the reset button for at least 15 seconds.
-
Release the button and allow the device to restart.
The modem will reboot automatically. Once the power light stops flashing, the reset is complete and the device is ready to use.
Important:
A factory reset restores default settings only. It does not roll back or change the firmware version.
